Since most of my travels have been with my best friend Lindsay, we collaborated to create a list of the most charming hotels we have stayed in throughout our European adventures! Luckily, all of these hotels are budget friendly. We generally look for accommodation that ranges between $20 and $50 a night per person.

We love to look for quaint hotels with a lot of charm that are an easy walk to main attractions. While we love looking for quaint places to stay, cleanliness is pretty much our #1 when we travel. So while we found all of these places to be charming, they were also very clean throughout our stay! I would highly recommend staying in the hostels below if you are in these European cities!

PENSION FABER, CESKY KRUMLOV

Pension Faber is one of my favorite hostels I have ever stayed in! I would go back to Cesky Krumlov just to stay at Pension Faber again! Luckily, I fell in love with the town as well so I will definitely be making a trip back. I am not going to lie, we lucked out with the best room in the house! Our window opened to the cobblestone streets which was incredible. The room itself was spacious and decorated adorably.

OLD TOWN LODGE, STOCKHOLM

Old Town Lodge is located in the center of Old Town, Stockholm, which in my opinion, is the best part of Stockholm! It is such an easy walk to the castle, restaurants, and the water to catch a boat ride. The hostel itself is cozy. It has such a quaint and charming feel to it. There is a nook to drink coffee while planning your day, and the staff is super friendly! Unfortunately, we did not luck out with rooms, as we did in Cesky Krumlov! We had a room downstairs without any windows, however, not all rooms are like this! We absolutely loved this hostel because it was charming and the location was so ideal.

GUESTHOUSE RUSTICO, DUBROVNIK

Guesthouse Rustico is officially the most charming hotel I have ever stayed in! It is located in the Old Town of Dubrovnik and is completely adorable! I’m not going to lie, you have to walk up a flight of staircases in order to get to Guesthouse Rustico. However, keep in mind a number of accommodations in Dubrovnik will require walking up a flight of stairs. We were on the fifth floor (no elevator!) of the guesthouse and had the best view of the city walls in Dubrovnik! Guesthouse Rustico was clean and comfortable throughout our stay. We paid 82 Euros a night which we found to be pretty reasonable however, I can imagine it is more expensive in the summer.

AIRBNB, BERGEN

So technically we did not stay in a hostel in Bergen, but our Airbnb was so cute! Our host, Amy, was awesome. She provided us with a complete guide of restaurants and activities in Bergen! Her apartment is adorable and has such a great view of the city! She has a spacious 1 bedroom apartment with a complete kitchen, which was perfect for our stay! We found it to be an easy 20 minute walk into the city.

CARUSO SUITE, SORRENTO

When I was in the Amalfi Coast, my fiancé and I stayed at Caruso Suite in Sorrento. Caruso Suite is absolutely adorable! There are only three guestrooms at The Bed and Breakfast giving it such a quaint feel. The Bed and Breakfast is located directly in the historic center of Sorrento and the window in our room opened to the streets of Sorrento with an ocean view in the distance. We found Caruso Suite to be very clean throughout our stay as our room was cleaned daily. The location is absolutely perfect for a stay in the Amalfi Coast! The staff were very friendly and breakfast was offered daily. We paid $137 a night throughout our stay (in October) however, the prices fluctuate depending on the season. This is a little more than I generally spend on a hotel but it was completely worth it!
